 The perfect choice if you're looking for a secluded and private spot to unwind, fish and relax amidst the Northern Ontario wilderness.

Situated in Missanabie, Ontario on the shores of beautiful Dog Lake, we offer you an experience that most Northern Ontario lodges can only dream of matching - privacy!

 Our housekeeping cottages are accessible by water only. 

 They have been built for maximum privacy on islands, sandy beaches and peninsulas here on Dog Lake.   To experience something similar, you would have to book with a fly in lodge which would cost you significant time, money and trouble to fly into a small lake where you are at the mercy of a pilot's abilities to transport you in & out in varied weather conditions. 

At Northern Wilderness Cottages, you pull up to the launch with your own vehicle (and your own boat if you choose not to rent one of ours) load your gear and set out. 

 In less than 30 minutes of arrival, you're docked at your own private cottage.  

The hassle of waiting for your flight, weighing gear, possibly waiting for ideal flying weather and actually having to fly is eliminated.

 After you've settled into your cottage, you can set out on Dog Lake to enjoy the breathtaking scenery or try your luck at some Northern Ontario fishing for Walleye, Lake Trout, Northern Pike, Perch, Whitefish, Smallmouth Bass and Burbot.

 With a surface area of  over 13,000 acres, Dog Lake has more than enough spots to catch your dinner or maybe find that trophy fish you've always dreamed about.
